Sirat is a Quran memorisation, recitation and learning app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and what is never collected.

1. Data We Do NOT Collect

• No account required — Sirat does not ask you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address.
• No personal data — We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, photos, or any personally identifiable information.
• No tracking or analytics — We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics SDKs, or behavioural profiling.
• No audio recordings stored — When you use the recitation feature, your voice is processed entirely on your device. No audio is sent to any server, stored, or shared.

2. On-Device Processing Local Only

All core features run entirely on your device:

• Recitation AI — Speech recognition uses an on-device model. Your voice never leaves your phone.
• Memorisation progress — Stored locally in your device's storage. Not synced to any server.
• Bookmarks, settings, streaks — All saved locally on your device.

3. Permissions We Request

The app requests only the permissions it needs. You can deny any of them — the rest of the app still works.

• Microphone — Used for Quran recitation practice. Audio is processed on-device and never recorded or transmitted.
• Location (optional) — Used only to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction. Your location is not stored or sent anywhere.
• Internet — Used to stream Quran audio recitations from public servers, download the AI model on first use (Android), and fetch optional content. No personal data is sent.
• Motion sensors (iOS) — Used for the Qibla compass feature only.
• Notifications (optional) — Used for prayer time reminders and memorisation reminders if you enable them.

4. Network Requests

The app connects to the internet only for:

• Streaming Quran audio from public recitation servers
• One-time AI model download on Android (cached locally after first use)
• Crash reporting via Sentry (anonymous — no personal identifiers)

No personal data, usage patterns, or device identifiers are transmitted.

5. Third-Party Services

• Sentry (crash reporting) — Receives anonymous crash logs to help us fix bugs. No personal data is included. Sentry Privacy Policy

We do not use any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or social media SDKs.

6. Children's Privacy

Sirat does not collect any personal data from any user, including children. The app is safe for all ages.

7. Data Retention

Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to retain or delete. All your app data lives on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
